The Magrath Dress from Sew Much Ado

Magrath Dress Pattern by Sew Much Ado

There are certain things that I sew that just make me so happy and the Magrath Dress is one of them! I love everything about it–the cute sweetheart front detail, the exposed zipper, the fact that you can choose long sleeves, which is perfect when it’s winter in New England.

I was lucky enough to get to test this pattern from Sew Much Ado and was so happy with how easily and quickly it came together. The fit was perfect and the only problem I had was trying to narrow down my fabric choices. I hope I’m not the only one who spends more time picking out fabric than actually sewing. I would be better off just sewing five of them…which I may just do anyway!

Oh, and then choosing zipper colors! I seriously stand there for 10 minutes holding up one color, and then another…then I just buy them all. And the lady at the fabric store looks at me a little funny when she asks what I’m making and I tell her a dress when I’ve bought six different zippers.

But back to the dress! Isn’t that sweetheart detail just so cute! The pattern features a dress and tunic length, three sleeve lengths and also three different views. The dress here is one view where you have both the front and back detail.

I also made view C that has a plain front with the back detail. This one I made in the tunic length and it’s also love!

I made the tunic with a Swiss dot fabric and and some lace for the back panels and along the bottom for trim. It looks so good now, but the problem is that white and my family just don’t mix. So it’s a good thing I documented it because the next time she gets done wearing this it will most likely be an assortment of colors from her day.

You definitely should check out this pattern! It is such a fun sew and I just love how all of the dresses turned out! You can find it at Sew Much Ado. And now I’ll just leave you with some extra photos!
