The Josephine Dress
Oh my gosh, this dress makes me so happy! It’s the Josephine dress pattern from Violette Field Threads. You have the option of making it with flutter sleeves or as just a top too, but I wanted something that Brynn could wear in the upcoming cooler weather.
I love little details on clothes and the ruffle placket and pin tucks on this dress are so perfect! I picked this fabric up probably a year or two ago on clearance from Jo-Ann’s with a dress like this in mind.
The most time consuming part of making this dress was sewing all of the buttons on. Even with all the details, it came together pretty quickly. And, I got to try out the one-step automatic button holes on my new sewing machine! I don’t know how I lived without it.
The smallest size this dress comes in is a 2t, so I was afraid it was going to be way to big, but it actually wasn’t bad. The sleeves are a bit long, but they can be folded up for now.
I really want to make the flutter sleeve shirt version of this pattern next. It’s on my huge list of things that I plan on sewing. At the very bottom of this list are things like hemming my husbands pants that have been waiting for over a year. That’s just no fun.
I’ll leave you with a ton of photos, because this little photo shoot was way too fun!
Really like the dress. Brynn is sooooo cute!!!!!!!!
